Amber + Mike HD Trailer

Amber and Mike were married at Arrowhead Golf Club in Littleton, Colorado. Since they live in Key West, their wedding day was the first time we officially met, and we were overjoyed to find out how sweet and kind they both are! Amber was one of the cutest, happiest brides we've seen; having fun, laughing and smiling the whole day - she is adorable! We were also thrilled to be working with our friends Jennifer and Rich of Candy Apple Photography again - they are one of the best photographers we've worked with, very laid back, easy-going and incredible! Kudos to them for setting up such amazing shots! And thank you Amber and Mike for allowing Rising Moon to be a part of your day. Sarah + Matt HD Highlights

Sarah and Matt were married at The Ridge at Castle Pines in Castle Rock, Colorado. We were all looking forward to Matt and his groomsmen's grand motorcycle entrance and were disappointed when the rain couldn't hold off long enough for the ceremony. Although a little rain didn't stop them from sharing their emotional vows in a cozy, intimate indoor setting instead. Sarah and Matt were a joy to work with, and we were kept very entertained throughout the night by Matt's crazy antics! :) Everyone had an awesome time dancing the night away under the stars. It was also wonderful working with Corrie from CLB Photography; she was so upbeat and thoroughly loves what she does! Congratulations Matt and Sarah, we wish you many happy years together!

Joe + Niki Sneak Peek

Pastor Joe and Niki were married at an enchanting private residence in Parker, Colorado. The grounds were decorated with a tropical theme, complete with their very own private Tiki Bar, torches lighting the walkway, shells on the cake and leis for their guests. And what an amazing couple! They were both so willing and enthusiastic to spend as much time needed to get the perfect shots - which makes our job a whole lot easier! Thank you both for inviting us to document your special day. So Joe, crack open a nice, cold Pepsi and enjoy your trailer!

Alanna + Dan Say "Yi! Do"

Alanna and Dan contacted us to film their wedding a little less than a month before their wedding date, but they had good reason - they recently won Slacker & Steve's 'Diss or Bliss' Wedding Giveaway and only had a short amount of time to plan, prepare and send the invites! Alice 105.9 was so generous to provide nearly all of the vendors for the perfect wedding, only they forgot one vital part - the cinematographer! We were honored to be a part of such a special day, and I can't think of anyone more deserving than Alanna and Dan. Slacker and Steve did have a few tricks up their sleeves, including a surprise dance with Alanna to the ever-so romantic Marvin Gaye hit "Let's Get it On!" (look for a separate posting of their dance, since it didn't make the highlight.) Although Dan quickly cut in, and swept his bride off her feet as they danced the night away. And man - did this group DANCE! They heated up the dance floor all night, and we were having a blast filming such an energetic group. Congratulations Alanna and Dan, it was such an honor to be part of your wedding day! We hope you enjoy your highlights!

Katelyn & Stephen Eshoot

I met up with Katelyn and Stephen for coffee and to shoot their engagement session on a somewhat stormy day. They were such good sports, letting me test out some new equipment. The weather held off just long enough to get some great footage, what's with all this rain??? But they were awesome, a lot of fun, and naturals behind the camera - I think we spent the whole day laughing! We're excited to be filming their wedding day coming up in September, which should be a romantic, intimate affair in Colorado Springs. DISCLAIMER: **no skateboarders were harmed in the making of this film** (if you haven't checked out the 'bloopers', you can watch here.) Enjoy!

Chelsea and Colin were married at Rockland Community Church in Golden, Colorado. I knew right away why they must have chosen this church - the view is breathtaking! We also loved Chelsea's bold choice of colors, hot pink and black; and she did an awesome job with the decor. The party really got started with several dance-offs, and everyone danced the night away. Surrounded by their friends and family, it was a day to remember. And Chelsea and Colin, don't forget - "take a lot of vacations!!" :) Enjoy the sneak peak!

Dianna + Jeremiah Wedding Sneak Peek

A little rain can't stop a wedding! Dianna and Jeremiah tied the knot at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs amidst frequent downpours and even hail! Although shooting in the rain with one hand on an umbrella was a new challenge, I apologize for the shake. The bottom half of my pants were soaked for the rest of the night, but hey, anything for the shot, right? Ever since her 18th birthday party at The Broadmoor, Dianna had her eye set on this venue for her wedding day, and even though the ceremony had to be moved indoors, that didn't stop them from expressing their love for one another in front of their friends and family. The venue was gorgeous, and the rain did manage to let up after the ceremony to allow for some outdoor shots to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings. The evening was filled with emotional toasts, good food, and even a dance-off or two! We hope to have their full highlights posted in the next few weeks. It was great working with Taylor Fry of Eat Drink & Be Married Event Services again, and also the amazing Steve Tinetti. Check out a sneak peak of some of their photos on his blog. Congrats Dianna & Jeremiah - we hope you're having fun in St. Lucia!

Blast from the Past

We filmed Jessica and Josh's love story before their wedding back in August. We headed up to Boulder, where Josh proposed to Jessica on Flagstaff mountain. Although their story was very interesting, I think their dog Jack actually stole the show haha! We were so happy to hear that they are expecting their first baby soon - congrats! One day your daughter can look back on your story and see how her mommy and daddy fell in love. Enjoy!

Harry & Paula HD Wedding Highlights

Our second wedding of 2009 was a little closer to home. We filmed Harry & Paula's wedding at The Westin Tabor Center in downtown Denver. The venue was beautifully decorated, the vibrant purple flowers made the room and tables pop. Summer and I absolutely loved the cake Paula picked out, it was stunning! We couldn't get enough shots of it (as you guys will tell from your video :) The dance floor was huge, which made filming the first dance a dream and we were able to get a lot of cool shots (hopefully we weren't in your way too much Steve!) Speaking of Steve, it was great working with Steve Z Photography; I can't wait to see their photos! Harry, Paula and their families were a delight to work with, and it was also great seeing Julie, Billy and their families again (we shot Julie & Billy's wedding back in August 2008.) Congratulations Harry and Paula; we wish you both many happy years together!

The Sanctuary

We recently had the honor of becoming a preferred cinematographer at The Sanctuary in Sedalia, Colorado. If you have never been there for a wedding or otherwise, it is an amazing venue. The stone walls, large fireplaces and mountaintop location make this venue really stand out. Rising Moon has had the privilege of shooting at The Sanctuary several times, most recently this winter for Heather & Robert's November wedding and Rebecca & David's December wedding. The panaromic views and magnificent sunsets do not disappoint; I've honestly never seen a sunset short of amazing every time we've shot there (which the photos below attest to!) And the stunning waterfall makes an awesome backdrop for some gorgeous photos! Marianne and Kelsey are super nice and always pleasant to work with, so if you haven't yet booked your wedding venue, I would definitely recommend checking out The Sanctuary.

Kicking off the New Year in HD

Our first wedding of 2009 took place in sunny and warm Phoenix, Arizona for a gorgeous couple, Mike and Rosa... a perfect combination to shoot our first HD wedding! I know I always say 'this was a fun couple to work with' but it's always true! And Mike and Rosa were no exception - fun, happy and truly in love. We tried a new editing style with their highlight video, and decided to mix up the order of events from the day a little bit, instead of editing in the typical, chronological order that we usually follow - We'd LOVE to hear what you think, so please leave comments, good or bad :) We hope you enjoy the highlights Mike and Rosa, and hope that it showcases your love-for-life personalities - congrats!

Once again, we had the privilege to work with Chris Sharber Photography to shoot footage for Erin and Ryan's Save-the-Date video invitations. Erin brought up the idea at their engagement session, and we all agreed it would be a really fun project to work on together! And Erin and Ryan were so fun, easy-going, and approached all of our shot ideas with a great attitude! We incorporated some footage from their engagement session, some photos courtesy of Chris Sharber Photography, and interviews from their parents. Overall, we think it turned out pretty good. Rebecca & David's Love Story

What can you say about Becca & David - they are one couple that are quite obviously truly in love and it shows! The circumstances of how they met seemed to be fate, and they were meant to be together. We met up with Becca, David and Candy Apple Photography at Eldorado Canyon State Park to shoot their engagement session a couple months back, while the fall colors were in full bloom... apparently everyone else in the area took advantage of the beautiful weather and showed up too, since the parking lot was jam packed! It was well worth it, the footage was amazing. Thank you Rebecca and David for being such good sports, and taking the time to share your unique story. See you Saturday!

Everyone should head down to the new 24 Hour Fitness in Aurora - it's HUGE! At close to 90,000 square feet, it has to be one of the biggest gyms in the country! We had the honor of shooting Chris and Colleen's wedding at Cherokee Ranch and Castle last Monday... yes, I did say Monday! They chose to get married at such a beautiful location, with a wide sweeping view of the mountains as a backdrop. Last weekend we had the pleasure of shooting Karen and Jason's wedding at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. The weather and scenery was beautiful. The ceremony was held out on the front lawn, overlooking the mountains and Lake Estes. The reception was held in the charming Music Room inside the hotel. Double Header

This Saturday started out bright and early, when we met Amy & Stephen at Red Rocks Trading Post for preceremony coverage of just the two of them. We were all looking forward to shooting at this beautiful location, and unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. Amy braved the wet ground in her beautiful dress to head up to the covered balcony so we were able to get some footage, which turned out pretty well. The bright side is that at least they say it's good luck to rain on your wedding day! We then headed to the ceremony location, with thunder blaring in the background. Special thanks to Kevin with Stalls Videography for helping to cover the reception, and also to Everett with Creative Focus Photography. Good luck in Singapore Amy and Stephen, you are both very talented and I wish you much success. Thank you for choosing Rising Moon to be a part of your special day!

The afternoon found us up at Copper Mountain, with snow flurries on the peak... in August! Unfortunately the damp weather stopped Georgi and Marni from being able to hold their B'not Mitzvah on top of the mountain. Instead the ceremony was held inside Copper Station, and they both did an amazing job! Everyone was having a blast at the cowboy themed reception, complete with a mechanical bull and all. Thanks to Amy Toltz-Miller Special Events for putting together a magical event. Mazel Tov Marni and Georgi, we wish you much success in your futures!

Jessica and Josh got married at Shrine of St. Anne in Arvada last Saturday. The day was hot, but the sun stayed hidden a bit which kept it cooler. The reception was held at the Westin in Westminster, and everybody seemed to have an awesome time! Thanks to Mitch with Bowers Photographics for setting up some amazing shots. Yesterday I filmed Julian and Amy's wedding ceremony at the Pines at Genesee, and their reception at the Grand Hyatt in Denver. I've been to a lot of weddings and have pretty much seen everything, but this was the first time I ever saw the groom wear a paper bag with a drawing of himself on it for when the bride was out and about. Priceless, you'll have to check out the highlight video when I post it. The afternoon started off with some light rain, but then tapered off just in time for the ceremony to begin; talk about perfect timing! Plus, they always say it's good luck to have a little rain on your wedding day. The location was beautiful, the Pines at Genesee is located in a serene mountain setting, and the ceremony took place outside on the terrace. Julian and Amy were a joy to work with and such a pleasure to be around. Their photographer, Andrea Flanagan, took some amazing photographs all around the grounds which I'm sure will turn out great. The reception on the 37th floor of the Grand Hyatt was magical, with an almost 360 degree view all around Denver. Congratulations Julian and Amy! Summer and I wish you the best of luck and many happy years together!

Interviews in Boulder

Yesterday I met with Jessica and Josh up on Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder to do their "before" interviews. The location was special for them because that is actually where Josh proposed to Jessica! Their wedding is coming up in a few weeks, and I could tell they are both really excited. The interviews went really well, they both did a great job. Thank you for taking the time to meet with me this weekend, and I will be seeing you two soon!

Here is a little highlight video I made for Somer's Bat Mitzvah. As you can tell, the kids were having a great time thanks in part to Scott from Pyramix, who kept them out dancing and having fun the whole night! It was definitely a change of pace from weddings so I'm excited to shoot my next Mitzvah. Mazel Tov Somer!

After living in Colorado for a few months I got a call from Diana to see if I was interested in going back to the windy city to shoot her wedding. The previous year I shot her sister's wedding and they were such good people that this was definitely a wedding I couldn't miss. My wife Summer and I shot Shannon and Michael's wedding on Saturday at the St. John Francis Regis Chapel at Regis University, and then at Coor's Field for the reception. The Chapel was beautiful, with big windows and a nice view of the mountains. The reception at Coor's Field was fun, everyone had a great time dancing, listening to the Irish band on the field, and playing the "cornhole" game! The day couldn't have gone any better. Congratulations Michael and Shannon! You were a fun couple to work with, and I hope you enjoy the trailer. I can't wait to start editing the whole video!

Somer's Bat Mitzvah, Part 2

Yesterday was Somer's Bat Mitzvah, and then her party following. The party was held at the JW Marriott in Cherry Creek. The room was decorated amazingly - probably one of the coolest themes I've seen! The theme for the evening was the Oscars, and the entrance to the party room was adorned by two giant Oscar statues. One of Somer's friends stood by the entrance and interviewed friends and family before they entered the room. The party got underway by Somer handing out awards (little Oscar statues) to friends and family that had helped her and supported her along the way. After dinner, the dancing got started - and everyone was having a lot of fun, kids and adults! Everyone was exhausted by the end of the night, but it was a great time. Thanks to the Reznick family for letting me be a part of it!

Nicole and Steven

We just got back from New Orleans a few days ago, and the wedding went great! Nicole and Steven chose to get married at a plantation house outside of the city. The weather was perfect, sunny and warm. Before the ceremony, we shot some footage of Nicole and Steven in Jefferson Square in the French Quarter. Off to New Orleans

Tomorrow my wife and I will be leaving for New Orleans to shoot Nicole and Steven's wedding. I felt honored that they chose me to come along and capture their special day, even though it's over a thousand miles away! It'll be a long drive, but well worth it. We've never been to New Orleans, so we hope to check out the sites while we're there as well. Hopefully everything will go great!

Today I met up with Nicole and Steven at Cheesman Park in Denver to get some footage for their love story. It was actually a pretty nice day, for February, and we were able to walk around to some different spots without bundling up too much! They brought their dog Cali with them to enjoy the nice day, and she had fun running around the park. I should have most of the footage I need to start editing their Love Story. It should turn out nice - they make a great couple!

Today I met with Nicole at Betasso Preserve in Boulder to shoot her interview for her and Steven's love story. They hired me to shoot their wedding in New Orleans in March, and wanted me to create a love story video to play at their rehearsal dinner. The setting at Betasso made a lovely backdrop. I'm sure all of her friends and family in New Orleans will be excited to see where she is living now - and I'm sure they aren't use to seeing mountains and snow!

Yesterday I shot Debie and Scot's wedding and everything went well. Debie and Scot were both very friendly and great to work with. It was a perfect sunny day; the ceremony was held at the First Congregational Church in Boulder, after they just completed a beautiful renovation. It was also nice that the church had a balcony for my second camera, so I could get a cool overview of the entire ceremony and guests. Afterwards, the reception was held at the D-Barn in Longmont, which was a fun place. One of the highlights of the evening was when a little girl got ahold of the microphone and starting talking about all the different things she could do, and told us all about her 3 dogs! She probably would have kept going if someone didn't coax the mic away from her haha! The day went great, Debie and Scot make a great couple and I wish them the best.

First wedding in Colorado

Today I got word about filming my first wedding with Rising Moon in Colorado. It's on August 12th at the Boettcher Mansion in Golden, Colorado. Since I'm new to the Denver area, I have never filmed a wedding there, and I'm looking forward to it. Peter and Heather seem like nice people so I'm glad that I can help them out with their video.
